Social and Organized PvP
Closes the item "Chat, proximity voice, parties and party finder" from 11 and the "arenas and clan wars still to detail" from 11/13. Everything here is a proposal for the prototype; numbers to be calibrated in the alpha. Fixed rules that hold in all sections: voice and economy only for verified 18+ (08, 16); nobody loses an NFT or worn equipment (13); clan war 50×50, alliance war 100×100 instanced (19, 00 T1); no betting between players, not even in gold (23 §2); casinos on hold, outside this document.
1. Chat channels
| Channel | Range | Who uses it | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Local | ~30 m around (text above the head in VR) | everyone | Default. Fades when the player moves away |
| Shout | ~120 m | everyone | 30 s cooldown; does not work inside a city (no square spam) |
| Whisper | one player | everyone | Only between accounts that have not blocked each other; a minor under 18 only receives from those on the friends list or in the same party/clan |
| Party | the party | everyone | Includes quick marks (ping, "danger", "fall back"), which also work for those who do not speak the same language |
| Clan / Alliance | members | everyone | 7-day history; officers can pin a message |
| City | those in the city | everyone | More strongly moderated (announcements, offers) |
| Region trade | whole region | everyone | Only shop/contract ads, limited to 1 message every 2 min per account |
| Party finder | those searching | everyone | Fixed text + fields, no long free text (§4) |
| System | you | — | War notices, mail, bounty, PvP window |
Common rules:
- Rate limit per channel and per new account (first 10 hours of play: half the rate), against gold-seller and bot spam.
- Text filter in two layers: term list and classification model, applied on the server; the player can choose "strong filter" (profanity becomes
***). For a minor under 18, the strong filter is fixed and links are blocked. - No clickable links in the game. Items linked in chat (
[Sword of…]) are the only interactive object. - Languages: Portuguese and English at launch; the region channel does not separate by language, but the party finder has a "language" field.
- Gold and tokens do not circulate by chat: there is no pay command. Gold only through a trade with a double-confirmation window (
24§6), mail (§6) or contract.
2. Proximity voice (18+)
- Only verified 18+ accounts (
08). A minor under 18 neither hears nor speaks; the voice icon appears disabled for them, and nobody is included by mistake in a voice room. - 25 m radius with attenuation by distance and by obstacle (a wall muffles; an open door does not). 3D directional, important in VR (
19). Inside a tavern, the hall's voice stays in the hall. - Modes: push to talk (default on PC), open voice with detection, and in VR a hand gesture near the mouth as an alternative. Open voice comes turned off.
- Private voice channels for party, clan and alliance (no distance limit, 18+). Alliance voice room limited to officers during war, to avoid the noise of 100 people.
- Per-player control: mute, adjust individual volume, "friends and party only", festival mode (no voice from strangers, useful in a crowded square). Muting is local and does not notify the person.
- Voice and moderation. No recording everyone all the time. Proposal: the client keeps a local 2-minute buffer, and only when "report" is pressed does it upload, encrypted, for analysis. Open legal point: consent and retention (LGPD in Brazil, GDPR in Europe) need a legal opinion; acceptance goes into the terms of use, and the buffer is deleted after 30 days with no decision.
- Big city: ~100 visible (
00T1) means at most about 20 talking at once within 25 m; the voice server mixes only the 8 nearest voices per listener. - Cost: voice enters as a service separate from the game server (each region server has its own). If the cost blows up, plan B is to enable voice only in parties and rooms, without open proximity.
3. Parties
- Dungeon: 5 players; raid: 20 (
03). A party of up to 5 and a "raid group" of up to 20, with leader, leadership handover and a simple vote to kick (only in a party assembled by the finder, not in a friends' party). - Individual loot (
03): each sees their own, no loot contest. Party items that do not bind on equip can be traded within the party for 30 minutes, with no gold in the middle (prevents disguised selling). - Declared roles, not mandatory: front, support, damage, control. The game does not require "tank and healer" (the classes in
17are a starting point), but dungeons suggest a composition; the declared role only serves the search. - Party scaling: the dungeon adjusts health and enemy count to party size (3, 4 or 5), so nobody is left out for lack of one (2 to 5 players;
29§1). - World marks: arrows, location ping, pull countdown (in VR, point with the hand).
- Respawn: die in the dungeon, respawn at the entrance with −10 durability points per piece (
26§6,30§8); the party can use a rescue item (gold sink,33).
4. Party finder for dungeons
Design goal: enter a dungeon in under 5 minutes without losing the charm of talking to people in the tavern.
- Two routes: (a) automatic queue for the chapter's dungeons, which joins 5 compatible players in the same world and region and teleports them to the gate (only to the gate: the trip to the gate is the penalty, the dungeon is worth the trip); (b) party board in each tavern and city, with ads created by the leader.
- Ad fields: dungeon, difficulty, missing roles, language, voice yes/no (a voice party requires 18+ from everyone; the filter avoids joining a minor to a party that requires voice), "teaches" (for those who accept newcomers) and time.
- Compatibility: level within a range; minimum gear power (never a visible NFT "attribute", which does not exist); abandonment history; "friends of friends only" preference. There is no class or cosmetic filter.
- Abandonment: leaving mid-dungeon creates a 15 min cooldown on new queues (does not apply to a dropped connection, with 5 min to rejoin). No gold penalty.
- Teaching: the leader who marks "teaches" earns mentor reputation (
24§5) when the newcomer finishes; accounts with playtime and KYC only, against bots. - Wait time: if the queue goes beyond 5 min, the game offers NPC combat companions (limited power, never replace a player,
24§7) for the Chapter 1 dungeons.
5. Friends, clan and guild tools
- Friends: list of 200; presence (online, away, "do not disturb", invisible); invite by name or by proximity; friends of friends feed the party finder. Invites come with a daily limit for new accounts (against spam).
- Block: blocks text, voice, invite, whisper and mail; invisible to the other side. Block applies between accounts, not per character.
- Clan (
19): configurable ranks, bank with a log, bulletin board, calendar with sign-up for events (raid, war, caravan) and attendance confirmation. New tools:- Clan and alliance calendar with the server time zone and the player's time zone side by side.
- War roster: the officer builds the list of 50 (or the alliance's 5 units), defines squads and commanders, and the list is locked 24 h before.
- Recruitment: clan showcase in the tavern (language, schedule, "casual" or "war", voice yes/no), join request with a short message.
- Audit: every bank movement, invite, kick and rank change goes in a 90-day log, readable by all officers; the token only with two officers (
19). - 7-day lockout to switch clans (
19) and 24 h lockout to enter a war list after joining the clan.
- Alliance: up to 5 clans, own chat, shared map of markings.
6. Mail
- Text and attachments: up to 10 items and gold, valid for 30 days (then returned to the sender).
- What does not go by mail: NFTs (only through the token market), NPC raw material bound to the account, items bound on equip.
- Gold by mail counts as a transfer and enters the daily transfer cap with the fee in
33§6; new accounts have a lower cap. This closes the shortcut of passing gold from a bot to a human by mail. - Shop mail: the hired NPC vendor sends the day's result (sales, profit, low stock); the owner reads it whenever they want.
- Cash on delivery: asks the recipient for payment before delivering the item; the gold is held by the system until acceptance. No defaulting (
24§6). - Moderation: text goes through the chat filter; a mail report sends a copy to the moderator. A minor under 18 receives mail only from friends, clan and system.
7. Arenas
- Queues: 1×1, 3×3 and 5×5, ranked and casual. In VR, when it arrives, queues separated by control type (
13). - Balance: in arenas, gear power is normalized to a fixed value for each format (attributes pulled to the same tier cap), so the difference between a veteran and a novice is skill, not an affix table. Chaos effects turned off and potion stacking cap (
22§7). - Rating: Glicko-2-style model (rating and uncertainty); uncertainty drops with matches, and those above the uncertainty limit play more cautiously. Tiers: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond and Legend (top 0.5% of the world in the season).
- Seasons: 3 months, without resetting character, land or NFT (
03); only rating (reduces part of the distance to the center) and season rewards. Calibration of 10 matches in the starting tier. - Rewards (all cosmetic or reputation): season title, portrait frame, in-game weapon and armor appearance, not an NFT, walk effect, arena banner. No gold prize beyond the common arena income (up to ~10 gold/h,
33§1) and no token prize or paid entry until the legal opinion (14§3). - Anti-cheat: the server validates each strike (
13); match log with a 20 min replay; anti-collusion: same account, clan or IP repeated, or the same pair playing too much, does not count for rating; the queue blocks teams assembled with an opponent from the same party. - Anti rating farm: wins against the same opponent yield less with each match of the day; quitting a ranked match counts as a loss and a cooldown.
- Minors: may play arena (it is not economy), with strong chat filter, no voice.
8. Wars: scheduling rules
Launch territories: the Mina Velha (6 concessions, 2 per clan and 3 per alliance, 19) with open PvP only in scheduled windows (13). Clan and alliance wars use the same windows.
| Rule | Proposal |
|---|---|
| War windows | The two weekly open-PvP windows of Mina Velha (2 h each; e.g. Wednesday and Saturday night, 29 §7); the war takes up 90 min within the chosen window |
| Who chooses | The defender chooses the window between the two, within the 7 days after the declaration |
| Declaration | 72 hours of notice, with the name list up to 24 h before; war announced on the city bulletin board |
| Limit | A territory suffers at most one war per week; an attacker may only declare one per week |
| Size | Clan 50×50; alliance 100×100 on an instanced field (05); smaller teams play at the same cap, with no bonus |
| Reinforcements | Those not on the list do not enter the field; reserve of 10 per side |
| Alt accounts | The same KYC does not enter twice; accounts under 30 days old do not enter the list |
| Result | Points for point captures and for kills; the highest score at the end wins. A tie goes to the defender |
| Losses | Only those in 13: part of the cargo and pocket gold; never worn equipment or NFTs; the anti-collusion rule of 23 applies |
| End | The territory changes hands only at the end of the window; 7-day cooldown before a new war |
| Open PvP window at Mina Velha | The same two 2 h windows (29 §7); outside them, consent only |
Window choice: to avoid a time monopoly (a clan that only collects during another's off-peak hours), the system alternates: the two windows are offered, the one with the larger active population becomes "default" and the defender can switch once per season. Anti-bloc rule: at most 3 territories per alliance per region (19).
9. Spectator mode
- Who can watch: anyone, in arenas, wars and tournaments, in a grandstand seat (arena) or war camera (instanced field), with a 30-second delay against using spectators to pass information to those fighting (ghosting).
- Who cannot: those on the match list, allies inside the same war, or the party of those fighting while the match runs.
- Cameras: follow a player, field camera and overview. In VR: only booths and step teleport, no free flight (for comfort,
00F2), and no scrolling. - Caster: tool for the event organizer (
24§4): caster voice on its own channel (18+), score overlay, replay. - Streaming: the game has an option for voice delay and mute for streamers, avoiding leaking war calls in real time.
10. Anti-toxicity tools
- Two-tap report (player menu, or straight from the results screen): reasons (harassment, discrimination, cheating, bot, scam, offensive name); automatically attaches the chat buffer and, for voice, the 2-min buffer (§2).
- Mute and block always at hand; calm mode (no chat from strangers) with one button.
- Sanction ladder: warning → 24 h mute → 7 days → 30 days → temporary ban → permanent. A serious offense (threat, exploitation of a minor, hate) goes straight to the last two steps. A chat sanction never touches an NFT; the NFT stays with the owner (
08). - Conduct reputation: invisible score that feeds the party finder (those with many confirmed reports only see parties of those who accepted them); it is traceable, has an appeal, and partially resets over time.
- Review: a report is confirmed only by a human (moderator or trained volunteer) before a ban; automation can mute for up to 24 h.
- Protection of minors: contact from an unknown adult to a minor is limited (whisper blocked, voice nonexistent); minor account with no voice or market (
08). A grooming report has a response queue of up to 24 h and referral to authorities by a policy to be defined with legal. - Anti-harassment in bounties and PK: bounty cap per target and repeated pursuit weigh heavily (
23§1). - Names and crests: filter and review of clan, character and crest names (hate symbols); renaming with a cooldown.
- Transparency: quarterly report of reports, sanctions and appeals (aggregate number), so the community sees the rule applies to everyone.
11. Open questions
- Voice consent and retention (LGPD/GDPR, §2).
- Player age in minors' chats: separate 13–17 band from 18+ or a single one? (affects age rating,
16). - Moderation volunteers with mute power: yes or staff only?
- Whether the war window should have a variant for other time zones when the game has a server outside the Americas (
00T3).
